JAPAN Diaries Day 1: Arriving in Tokyo, Japan

Made it very late in the middle of the night to Tokyo. Arriving they had this super cute video showing how to “be responsible”. Essentially little comedy sketches with samurais that show to not take excessive pictures in temples, don’t skip in like and so on. A very cute way to raise awareness and make people feel good. Well done Japan.

Then somehow my mobile internet stopped working on my phone just after I called the Uber. Luckily I still got to see the drivers name and found Hiroki-San. A very sweet gentleman driving me through the late nights of Tokyo. It’s surprisingly quiet roads for a city of more than 37 million people – then again it was 3:20 am.

The hotel has luckily 24 hour Checkin. Coming there I knock on the door, of this smaller hotel expecting someone to come. Surprisingly it’s open 24/7. There is a lot of trust in people here in Japan. And a minute later also the hotel staff arrives. It’s Checkin at the hotel was very comfortable, and I have this comfortable room in a business hotel in Ueno.AC check – for the hot Tokyo summer in July. Blackout curtains check, quick meditation and writing this article while the AC cooles down the room. Now it’s time to sleep and restore energy for the upcoming Tokyo adventures.
