One question I like to ask people is whether they feel life gets easier or more difficult with age. Their responses reveal a lot about their mindset.
Personally, I find life gets easier as I grow older. I understand myself and others better and have more choices in how I approach things. I know what I like and dislike, and I place less pressure on myself. There’s less need to prove anything to myself or others; I simply do what I enjoy. With a nomadic lifestyle, there’s even less peer pressure. My friends are open-minded and accepting of various ways of living, which is one reason they are my close friends. They are also seekers, constantly figuring out how to live their best lives.
Of course, there are bigger challenges to navigate as life goes on, but there are also more options to choose from. With more life experience, it feels possible to figure things out, as patterns become apparent.
Confidence, I believe, comes with experience—having seen how things can be and having done them. Confidence is not something one is necessarily born with but a learned trait. This is inspiring because it suggests that it’s possible to build confidence over time, which in turn makes life easier.
Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, is understanding and setting boundaries. Recently, I heard, “You need to experience life before being able to set boundaries,” which was liberating. It enables me to explore, make mistakes, and learn along the way. I love that!
Overall, I believe life gets easier with more experience, especially for those who are open-minded and eager to figure things out.
