App privacy

Last updated: 30 October 2026

This policy covers RunPrep, the strength and mobility app for runners on iPhone and Apple Watch. In short:

  • No account, no sign-up, no RunPrep servers. Your training stays on your phone.
  • Apple Health data is read on your phone and never leaves it.
  • Usage data is shared only if you tap Share, and never includes aches, body checks, notes or Health data.
  • No ads, no tracking across apps, nothing is sold.

What stays on your phone

RunPrep stores your sessions, sets, weights, routines, settings, body checks (aches, sleep) and notes in the app’s own storage on your iPhone. If you use the Apple Watch app, the running session is mirrored between your iPhone and your watch over Apple’s direct connection between the two devices. We can’t see any of this. Deleting the app deletes this data, except copies you made yourself (see below).

Apple Health

With your permission, RunPrep reads your runs from the last four weeks from Apple Health: workouts, heart rate, distance and effort score. Apps such as Strava or Garmin Connect and the Apple Watch write them there. RunPrep uses them on your phone only, to suggest a lighter session after a hard run or a big week. RunPrep doesn’t write anything to Apple Health.

Health data is never sent to us or anyone else. It isn’t part of the usage data or the iCloud copy and is never used for advertising or analytics. You can change access at any time in the Health app under your profile, Apps, RunPrep.

iCloud copy

When the iCloud copy is available and switched on in Settings, RunPrep saves a copy of your sessions, sets, weights, routines and settings to your own private iCloud: after each session, otherwise at most once a day when you open the app. It keeps up to seven copies, one per weekday. Aches, body checks and Health data are not included.

The copy sits in your private iCloud database, which only your Apple account can read. We have no access to it; Apple’s privacy policy applies. You can switch the copy off in Settings. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR, as part of the app you use.

Files, clipboard and reminders

  • Export backup creates a file, and you choose where it goes (Files, AirDrop, email).
  • Import reads a file you pick, for example an export from Strong.
  • Paste routine from Claude reads the clipboard only when you tap it.
  • Reminders (rest is over, your next session) are scheduled on your phone. No push server is involved.

Usage data, only if you agree

After your first saved session, RunPrep asks whether you want to share usage data. Nothing is sent unless you tap Share. You can change your answer in Settings at any time; switching it off stops sending straight away.

What is sent: that the app was opened; your setup choices (runner type, goal, training phase, number of strength days); for each saved session the routine, place, duration, number of sets and exercises and your easy, OK or hard ratings; and which buttons were tapped. TelemetryDeck adds device type, iOS version, app version and a hashed installation ID.

What is never sent: your name or email, aches, body checks, notes, the names of routines you created, or any Apple Health data.

Why: to see which sessions people finish, which exercises they swap or skip and where setup gets in the way, and to fix that.

Provider: TelemetryDeck GmbH, Germany, with hosting in Europe. The data can’t be linked to your name, so we can’t look up or delete the signals of one person; switching off stops anything further. Legal basis: your consent, Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR and § 25 (1) TDDDG, which you can withdraw at any time in Settings. More: telemetrydeck.com/privacy

Purchases

The free trial and the purchase run through Apple’s App Store. Apple handles payment; we never see your payment details or your Apple ID. The app only learns from Apple whether you have bought RunPrep or started the trial.

Crash reports and the beta

If you allow it in iOS (Settings, Privacy & Security, Analytics & Improvements, Share With App Developers), Apple shares crash reports and usage statistics with us, without your name. In the TestFlight beta, Apple also passes on the feedback, screenshots and comments you send, and the name and email address of testers we invite.

Email, waitlist and newsletter

If you email us, we use your address and message to reply (Art. 6 (1) (b) and (f) GDPR). The waitlist and newsletter on olybock.com run through Mailchimp; the details are in the website privacy policy (in German).

What RunPrep doesn’t do

No advertising, no tracking across other apps or websites, no selling or renting of data, no profiles of you.

Health and age

RunPrep is for general fitness and wellbeing and is not a medical device. It is not meant for children under 16.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct and delete your data, to restrict or object to its use, to take it with you and to withdraw consent. You can also complain to a data protection authority, for example the Bavarian Data Protection Authority (BayLDA) in Ansbach.

Since most data never reaches us, you can do most of this yourself: export a backup, switch off the iCloud copy or usage data, or delete the app. For anything else, write to info@theb2banswer.de.

Changes

If what RunPrep does with data changes, this page changes first, with a new date.
